Gardena prices
Pricing a low-slope roof
A flat roof does not shed water; it holds it back. That makes seams and edges the whole job, and the whole price.
Or call (424) 414-1196Your request is in.
We are matching it now against roofing contractors working in Gardena and the surrounding area.
- Today, usually within the hour. The first contractor calls or texts the number you gave us. ASAP requests go out first.
- Up to three of them, no more. We cap it at three so you can compare without your phone melting.
- They come and look. Estimates are given after somebody has been on the roof, not over the phone.
- You decide, or you do not. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to pay us.
If you do not hear anything today, check your voicemail and spam folder — contractors often call from a mobile number.
These are estimated ranges, not quotes. Compiled from public installed-cost data for California and adjusted for how Gardena is built. No contractor is bound by them, and nobody can price a roof they have not stood on.
| Covering | Per square | Typical whole roof | Expected life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architectural asphalt shingleThe default choice on most American homes, and usually the right one. | $675 – $1,000 | $13,000 – $31,000 | 25 to 30 years |
| 3-tab asphalt shingleThe cheapest thing that still counts as a roof. Fewer and fewer crews will install it. | $500 – $750 | $9,500 – $23,500 | 15 to 20 years |
| Impact-rated asphalt shingleClass 4 rated. Often earns an insurance discount where hail is a factor. | $850 – $1,400 | $16,000 – $43,500 | 25 to 35 years |
What moves the price
- Warranty tier, which is really a question about who honours it in fifteen years
- How much decking turns out to be soft once the covering is stripped
- Pitch — anything over about 7:12 needs staging and slows a crew down
- Permit and inspection fees, which vary more between towns than people expect
- Whether the fasteners and flashing are specified for coastal exposure
Locally
These winds are not constant, which is the problem. A roof gets nine quiet months and then one night at fifty miles an hour, and whatever was marginal goes.
Ask where the water goes and what happens when the drain blocks. On a flat roof that is not a detail, it is the design.

Questions about price
Do I need a permit?
Almost certainly, for a full replacement. The contractor should pull it, and the fee should be a visible line on the quote rather than a surprise.
Do I have to hire anyone?
Not at all. Plenty of people use this to find out what a job costs and then do nothing for a year. That is a perfectly reasonable outcome.
I have solar panels. What happens to them?
They come off and go back on, and that is a separate cost, often handled by the solar installer rather than the roofer. If the roof is near the end of its life, do the roof first — removing and refitting panels twice is money wasted.
What is it going to cost?
Three questions, about a minute, and up to three Gardena contractors come back to you.
